Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham’s fairytale wedding reportedly came with a side of drama.
According to the Daily Mail, the billionaire father of the “Bates Motel” alum, Nelson Peltz, has filed a lawsuit against wedding planners Nicole Bergin and Arianna Grijalba for refusing to return their $159,000 deposit.
In the lawsuit, Nelson, 80, claims he and his wife, Claudia Peltz, hired Grijlba and Bergin in March 2022 through their firm, Plan Design Events.
After planning his first wedding, Peltz hired the couple six weeks before the star-studded nuptials were set to take place at the billionaire’s Palm Beach estate.
However, after only nine days on the job, Grijalba and Bergin decided not to go ahead with Nicola and Beckham because they couldn’t handle the couple’s guest list, which included more than 500 people.
“The expected attendance of many high-profile guests along with celebrity weddings requires that a wedding planner has the skills and experience to plan, coordinate and execute a wedding event of the expected caliber and complexity.” For,” the lawsuit reads, per se. The Daily Mail.
Nelson also included some text messages her daughter allegedly sent to wedding planners in the lawsuit, including one where the actress said she was “tired” of correcting their mistakes when they said Lewis Hamilton RSVP’d “Yes” though he told the couple. He could not attend the wedding.
The “Transformers: Age of Extinction” actress reportedly wrote, “Lewis Hamilton didn’t RSVP. So explain why his names [sic] Please be on the list.
“We talked to him. He cannot come to explain why you said rsvpd yes,” he added.
Grijalba tried to explain that he needed more time to familiarize himself with the app that was on the virtual guest list.
“I need time to do this,” he reportedly wrote. “I’m going to take a moment to learn the app and send you the info, I hate to look like an idiot but I really hate not giving you what you need ASAP. I will be back soon.”
Nicola, who was visibly upset, reportedly replied, “That’s not true. He never responded.
Nelson also claimed in the lawsuit that the wedding planners had a drinking problem.
A week before the RSVP exchange, Grijalba reportedly posted in the group chat that she was “going for a tequila before the head explodes,” to which the “Last Airbender” actress reportedly replied, “Yes Queen!” !!!”
Nelson is also reportedly suing the two for legal fees.
Page Six has reached out to Nicola’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Despite the problems, the Peltz family ended up with Michel Rague’s Michel Rague destinations.
