The shooting happened in the area of Iowa Avenue North and Plum Street on Monday afternoon at 3:43 p.m. Police initially said nine people were injured but later learned that two more people were injured. Two people were seriously injured, and nine people suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police said two people who were seriously injured are undergoing surgery. “One is undergoing surgery, and the other is undergoing surgery or surgery,” Lakeland Police Chief Sam Taylor said. Four suspects in a dark blue four-door Nissan with tinted windows and a temporary license plate are believed to be responsible for the shooting. “The car drove slowly. It didn’t stop, and four windows rolled down. Apparently, the car had four shooters, and they started shooting all four windows of the car and shooting men on both sides of the road,” said Taylor. “We have reason to believe that this was an intentional event, that it was not a random event.” Taylor announced Tuesday morning that the car had been found in West Lakeland, but no suspects were involved. And you just hear, ‘I’m hit, I’m hit.’ People (were) running,” two residents, Antosha Collins and Tina said. A school bus stopped to drop off children between Iowa and Plum Street in Lakeland on Monday afternoon when, within minutes, gunshots flew everywhere. “It’s a blessing that not one child was shot. That’s a great blessing,” Tina said. “Do you have children of your own?” WESH 2’s Senait Gebregiorgis asked. “You don’t even know what the world is coming to. Everyone should keep praying, knowing God, taking everything from him and looking around the world as best as you can,” said Collins. WESH 2 was told the victims are all male. Police initially said nine people were injured but later learned two additional people were injured.
Two people were seriously injured, and nine people suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police said two people who were seriously injured are undergoing surgery.
“One is undergoing surgery, and the other is undergoing surgery or surgery,” Lakeland Police Chief Sam Taylor said.
Four suspects in a dark blue four-door Nissan with tinted windows and a suspended license are believed to be the shooters.

Taylor announced Tuesday morning that the vehicle was found in West Lakeland, but no suspects are in custody.
He said he has several “credible leads”.
