Kanye West: Gap and Foot Locker remove all Yeezy merchandise

As a corporate backlash against Kanye West, Gap has announced that it is selling the rapper’s Yeezy Gap line from its stores and shutting down YeezyGap.com. Additionally, Foot Locker is pulling Yeezy products from its shelves.

“The recent comments and behavior of our former partner further explains why we are taking immediate action to remove Yeezy Gap products from our stores,” the retailer said in a statement on Tuesday.

In the past few weeks, retailers, social media platforms, celebrities and fashion and entertainment companies have pulled away from business alliances with West over anti-Semitic comments on a podcast, and on Twitter, among other controversial behavior.

Gap’s move follows Adidas’ statement Tuesday that the company has ended its partnership with West, which has legally changed its name to “immediate effect.”

Also Tuesday, a spokesperson for retailer Foot Locker (FL) said that while it remains “partnered with Adidas and carries a wide selection of their collection — we will not be supporting any future Yeezy product drops.” And we have instructed our retail operators to pull any available products from our shelves and digital sites.
