(ABC4) — It’s a tough time in the tech industry, as the number of workers increases at the end of 2022 due to inflation and fears of a prolonged recession. So the question on everyone’s mind is: How do you keep yourself out of work?
Workable.com might have one of the more succinct ways of putting it: “Revenue is higher than anyone else, which means that the last people to quit are the ones who bring money to the company.”
If your job is tight, it may be time to seriously evaluate how valuable your position is. Forbes.com points out that there is no formula for knowing who will be fired and who will survive the ax.

People with highly specialized skills that are difficult to replace can be fired, while workers with talent is everywhere and easily replaced, not safe.”

“If you do get laid off, take the time to reinvent yourself so you can become the type of employee the next company is hiring,” says Workable. “Improve your leadership presence, emotional intelligence, leadership skills, sales skills, business acumen and key skills relevant to the position you are seeking.”
